The Rebirth of Hip Hop! Doc and Meth speak on their new album.

I remember the days of lyrical hip hop. A day when the lyrical content and wordplay was the meat of the music. Today we have evolved into the era of catchy hooks (chorus lines) and autotunes (see my blog on Jay Z’s new DOA). Now I dig the whole Common, “I Used To Luh HuH” bit, so this chick called hip hop is a passion for me. We used to kick it waaaaayyyy back with Motown’s Trendz of Culture and groups like Tribe Called Quest. When Hip Hop was Hip Hop and music was becoming what we see to day. Red and Meth, The Funk Doc Spock and Johnny Blaze! big ups to you. I’m gonna keep bumpin’ the young kids to show my support for the evolution of music, but I will always hold high the roads and highways paved by the geniouses we know like yourselves, Busta, Snoop, and Cube. Keep Hip Hop alive. We caught em on VLAD TV.
